Final Pre-Launch Trailer Wishlist For Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom

It’s 30 days until the launch Tears of the Kingdom, and today Nintendo announced they will be showing the final pre-launch trailer for the game. This is the one we’ve been waiting for, it’s nearly 3 minutes long, and hopefully will answer some of the questions we have regarding the game. Today I want to dive into some topics I hope they cover the in the final trailer for the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

Before we get into it, let me know in the comments what you want to see in the final trailer, plus let me know your hype levels for Tears of the Kingdom.

Well, it happened. We’re 30 days, or little less than a month from launch and the final pre-release trailer is going to release tomorrow for Tears of the Kingdom. Nintendo did have a little fun with it, earlier today they released a very short little video saying “One month to go”, and we all thought that was it. Then later in the day, Nintendo tweeted that tomorrow they’re going to publush the final trailer at 7am PT, or 3pm GMT. It’s time to get excited and get hyped for the final trailer, because this is going to be the big one.

Today I want to focus on some of the things I would love to see in the trailer tomorrow, some of the unanswered questions, plus also some of the things on your wishlist too. Earlier I put out a community update via Triforce Times YouTube channel, and you responded with a whole bunch of things. Without further delay lets get into it.

Ganondorf

First up we have Ganondorf, and this is from Twixlord86 on YouTube. There has been a lot of speculation as to the identity of the corpse found under Hyrule Castle. It looks like Ganondorf, we have the Gerudo jewel in the middle of the head, and there are audio cues in that first trailer that it’s Ganondorf. However, Nintendo haven’t actually confirmed its Ganondorf, so that’s one thing I would like explained in the trailer. Is it Ganondorf we’re dealing with, or is it someone else? I’m 99% certain it’s Ganondorf. It would be good to see him in Gerudo form, rather than the zombie form, although how long it would take him to recover is unknown. Either way Nintendo, confirm Ganondorf is in Tears of the Kingdom.

Zonai

In the recent gameplay trailer we got the confirmation that the Zonai will be a part of the game. Eiji Aonuma defeated a Soldier Construct on the Sky Islands, and it dropped a Zonai Charge. Given this trailer is likely to go into the story in a little more detail, I’d like to find out more about the Zonai, where did they go, what happened to them and how are they going to feature in the upcoming Legend of Zelda adventure.

Mystery figure

This one comes from jasonmg99 on YouTube. We’ve seen this mystery figure on the tapestry, a few trailers ago. It’s a large figure, with long ears, and appears to be a new character. I’d like to know more about this character, who they are, what their role is. Given their placement on the tapestry, it appears as if they are going to be a central character, but I’d like to know more about them. Link appears to get injured from the attack from Ganondorf in trailer 2, and Zelda’s heard to say “Lend him your power”, perhaps Princess Zelda is speaking to this new mystery character?

Fusing Monster Parts

In the gameplay reveal we got to learn about some of Link’s new abilities, one of them being Fuse. In trailer 2 we saw weapon parts attached to enemies heads. I assume we can defeat enemies, and then these parts are going to fall off onto the ground, and we’re going to be able to pick them up and fuse them together. I’d like to see a demonstration of this, and see Link put together a weapon we’ve never seen before.

Triforce

The Triforce is barely mentioned in Breath of the Wild, however, there are hints that Princess Zelda may have all pieces of the Triforce. In previous games Link, Zelda and Ganondorf have shared the Triforce between them. I’d like to know if the Triforce is going to play a role in Tears of the Kingdom, and if so, how? It looks like Ganondorf is coming back, which means we have all three characters in place, the only thing that’s missing is the Triforce itself.

Underwater Exploration

I would love to find out more about underwater exploration. This is something that’s pretty high on the community wishlist, and there have been hints that this could be a thing in Tears of the Kingdom. If we’re going to dive down deep into the depths of Lake Hylia and explore, then I’d love to see a quick demo, even if it’s only a few seconds.

Dungeons

This is a big one. Dungeons. Thanks to jasonmg99 on YouTube for this one. One of the biggest pieces of negative feedback from Breath of the Wild was the lack of Dungeons. Yes, we had Divine Beasts, but I don’t think they lived up to the high standards the Zelda team have set in the past with their Dungeons. We’ve seen hints of big structures in trailer before, whether they be in the sky or on land, but I would love to get confirmation of Dungeons in Tears of the Kingdom.

Vials on Link’s Hip

Back in the name reveal trailer we got a brief glimpse of the vials on Link’s Hip. In the box art you can also see Link bending down and the vials are there, sitting on his hip. We don’t actually know what they are for. They appear to be filled with a liquid of some sort, and perhaps this is the same liquid used during the Ultrahand ability, which allows Link to stick together various items to create vehicles, and maybe even bigger structures. I’d love to find out more about the vials, where he got them, plus what they are for.

Link’s appearence

Link has two very distinct looks in the trailers. First time we see Link, he’s traveling underground wearing his blue champions tunic. We’ve also seen Link looking very different, longer hair, different outfit, strange right arm. I’d like to know if this is the same Link, or if we’re going to be traveling between different time periods and playing as two Links. The simple explanation is probably the correct one, and that’s it’s just an outfit switch. In Breath of the Wild Link had many weird and wonderful outfits. While the simple explanation is normally the right one, the fun explanation is we travel back to 10,000 years ago and experience Hyrule in the past and play as the hero as told in the tapestries in Breath of the Wild.

Musical Instruments

Music intruments have played a big part in previous Zelda games, like Ocarina of Time and Link’s Awakening, just to name a couple of examples. Music instruments were lacking in the original Breath of the Wild, and personally i’d love to see them make a return. I recently played through Link’s Awakening and A Link To The Past, and the songs on the Ocarina (or Flute as it’s known in ALTTP) lead to powers like fast travel, or even bringing creatures back to life. This would add a new dimension to Tears of the Kingdom, and I’d love to see it.

Princess Zelda

Thanks to Sakujo on YouTube for this one. What happened to Princess Zelda? Last time we saw her she fell down a big hole after an earthquake. We did hear Princess Zelda talking in Trailer 2, saying to someone for them to “Lend him your power”, probably referring to the injured Link after the Malice attack from the Ganondorf Corpse. We’ve also seen Princess Zelda in promotional material, looking like she’s ready to explore, plus she’s holding the Sheikah Slate. Could this finally be the time we get a reveal of a playable Princess Zelda in a mainline Zelda game? I know this is a very divisive topic, but I think it would mix things up very nicely in the game and provide a new dimension. The recent God Of War Ragnorok is a great example of how you can play as multiple characters, but doing this in an open woirld setting could be tricky. Either way, I would love to see a playable Princess Zelda, and perhaps tomorrow we’ll get the big reveal.

Well, that’s it for the moment on some of the things I would like to see in the Final Pre-release trailer for the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. To be honest I’d be super happy if we only got one or two of these things, and I imagine Nintendo will keep walking that tightrope of showing just enough to get fans excited, but holding back a whole bunch of stuff for us to find in the game. Whatever happens, this is the most exciting time to be a Legend of Zelda fan, and I hope you enjoy the trailer tomorrow.

Let me know in the comments what you want to see in that final trailer, and let me know your hype levels.
