Finding Shrine in Tears of the Kingdom can be a challenge, and you’ll want to find as many as possible to level up your hearts and stamina. A useful tool to help you find shrines nice and quickly is the Shrine Sensor. Today I’m going to walk through all the steps to unlock this useful feature of the Pura Pad, so you’ll be able to find all the shrines in no time at all in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
To get the Shrine Sensor you want to unlock the quest Hateno Research Lab. To get this quest you’ll need to speak to Robbie and Josha in Lookout Landing and you’ll want to complete a couple of quests first, “Camera work in the depths” and “A Mystery in the depths”. Once you have completed this quests, Robbie will get in his balloon and make his way to Hateno Village.
Hateno Village Research Lab quest guide
Once you have picked up the Hateno Village Research Lab quest, you’ll have a yelow marker placed on your map, which will lead you to where you need to go. You have multiple options to get there; you can build a vehicle, you can run, or you can get on a horse and ride there. However you get there, you want to make your way to Hateno Village and find Robbie at the Hateno Research Lab. If you played Breath of the Wild, you’ll recognise this place, and it’s great to get back there.
How to get the Shrine Sensor
When you reach Hateno Village and speak to Robbie in the Lab, he’ll unlock the Shrine Sensor for you on the Pura Pad. Once you are given the ability, Robbie asks you to walk around the lab and test it out, and much to Robbie and Link’s surprise the sensor starts going off. Robbie tells Link to go outside and test it out, and from here you want to head down the hill and find the cave which is blocked up by boulders.
The Shrine Sensor blinks and makes a sound, and if this is annoying you can turn it off by pressing Y on the map screen. Next up you want to destroy the boulders, make your way into the cave and you’ll find Mayahisik Shrine.
Once you have discovered the Shrine you can complete nice and quickly, it’s one of those where you simply go in and pick up the reward. When you have finished, go back to Robbie in the Hateno Village Research Lab to finish up the quest, then you are free to roam around the world and finding shrines will now be much easier, thanks to Robbie’s genius and the Shrine Sensor on the Pura Pad.
Let me know in the comments what you think of the Shrine Sensor and is this something you are going to use in Tears of the Kingdom?
