How to get the Glide Armor in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Glide armor is one of the best armor sets in the game, plus if you get the whole set and upgrade it, then you’ll never have to worry about fall damage from skydiving ever again. Today I’m going to show you how to get the Glide armor, where each piece is, how to complete the trials, plus how to get the materials to upgrade, so you can skydive without worry in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

Skydiving is one of the major selling points in Tears of the Kingdom, and it’s pretty seamless jumping from a Sky Island down to Hyrule, or even down into the depths from above. You can open up your paraglider to safely land on the ground, however, the new Glide armor has a hidden bonus which removes fall damage completely.

Without further delay, let’s check out how to get the Glide armor.

Glide armor chest piece

You can find the Glide Shirt on Courage Island at the coordinates (-2400, 0824, 0615), which is a sky island northwest of the Central Hyrule Sky. Use Lingdor’s Brow Skyview Tower to launch Link into the air and then glide to the southwest sky island. Once you land on the island have a chat with the Construct and they will let you know about the Trial, and ask you to do the challenge. For each challenge you have to do a trial run, without a time limit, then you have to complete each one in under 35 seconds. You’ll also have to pay the Construct one Zonai Charge per run.

Each challenge consists of jumping through rings and you have to skydive through all the rings. If you are having trouble, then try not to dive too quickly, and you can always use the paraglider to reposition yourself. After a few practice runs it becomes much easier. Each time you take on a challenge, there’s a shrine on the island, so pick it up to get the fast travel point for the future.

Once you complete the challenge the Construct will reward you the Glide Shirt. The Glide shirt has 2 defense and you get a nice upgrade to your skydiving mobility.

Glide armor legs

You can find the Glide Tights on Bravery Island at the coordinates (0176, 1988, 0758), which is a sky island in the North Hyrule Sky Archipelago. To get there launch Link from the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower and paraglide south to the circle shaped sky island. This one is quite far away and you’ll likely need some extra stamina, which you can get from an exilir or food cooked with Stamella Shrooms.

Once you have made it to the sky island, speak to the contruct and they will again tell you aboiut the dive ceremony. Do the test run, then pay the Zonai charge fee and take on the challenge and complete it in under 35 seconds to complete the challenge. After a successful run, the Construct will give you the Glide Tights. Again, you get 2 defense and a bonus to your skydiving mobility.

Glide armor head piece

You can find the Glide Mask on Valor Island at the coordinates (4459, -821, 1114), which is a sky island in the South Lanayru Sky Archipelago. To get there use Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower and you can easily get there with just the paraglider this time, and you are looking for a circular shaped sky island. By now you should recognise the style and shape as all 3 dive challenge islands look the same.

Once you make it to the sky island, speak to the Construct, do the test run, then pay the charge and take on the challenge and complete the dive in under 35 secs. If successful the Construct will give you the Glide Mask, and congrats you now have the full set!

How to upgrade the armor

To uograde the armor you will need to have opened up the Great Fairy Fountains, and by opening all 4 they will be able to max out your armor, revealing the hidden bonus. To upgrade all items twice, which you need to do to get the bonus, you need 24 Keese Wings and 18 Aerocuda Eyeballs. Keese can be found at night around Hyrule Field and Aerocuda can be found in the mountains, or by the Military Training Camp near the Minshi Woods. You can also find loads of Aerocuda in teh Crenel Hills, again near the Military Training Camp, just south west.

How to remove fall damage forever

Now you have all the neccessary monster parts, you’ll want to go to a Great Fairy Fountain, and check out the this guide for how to unlock them. Then upgrade all the pieces twice with the materials and some rupees. The Great Fairy won’t tell you, but if you inspect the armor on your armor screen you’ll see the bonus Impact Proof. Then when you dive from the sky you’ll be able to dive into the ground, and you’ll land sfaely everytime, therefore never needing to worry about fall damage from skydiving ever again, as long as your wearing this armor.
