Building has been available in Tears of the Kingdom from the start, but I only build what I needed to get through the game. Zelda Notes has changed that, making it easy to share and access autobuilds via codes. Today I’m going to go through some of my favourite Autobuilds in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 Edition.

I didn’t build much when I first played through Tears of the Kingdom, apart from a Hoverbike to help me get around. That’s all changed with Zelda Notes, as now if you have Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 Edition, you can easily get access to autobuilds, taking the pain out of creating vehicles, mechs and destructive tools. Today I’m going to run down the list of some of my favourite autobuilds and these are going to help you get around Hyrule, easily kill enemies, plus play with some interesting physics and tools in Tears of the Kingdom.
How to use Autobuild sharing in Zelda Notes
To receive these builds in your game, all you need to do is open up Zelda Notes, make sure your game is connected via the options in your Tears of the Kingdom game, then scan the code with your phone camera. Once you have added the build to Zelda Notes, then you need to send the build to your game, and then open up your Autobuild ability and press + to receive the build. You may need a bunch of Zonaite to build the thing, I would recommend going down into the depths and farming Zonaite, look out for Zonaite deposits in mines.
Without further delay let’s get into some of my favourite builds in Tears of the Kingdom.
Danger Cactus (by BasilFlint)
First of all we have a creaton called a Danger Cactus. This is a device you can place down near an enemy camp and it’s going to slowly creep forward, killing everything in it’s path.
Mech (by Violet)
When Tears of the Kingdom was first shown off, the dream of having a mech was introduced to us all in the trailer. But I never built one. Now you can easily build a mech, like this one. It has lasers, it has cannons, and it kills everything with ease.
Flying Boat (by Luminoreya)
Next up we have a flying boat, which is good for getting around the sky. It’s easy to drive and very responsive, just make sure you have enough battery to stop you from falling out of the sky.
Dragon (by Garrett)
Next we have a dragon. This one isn’t very practical, but it looks good! I don’t think it’s going to scare many of the real dragons found in the game, given it’s quite fragile, but there is something majestic about Link piloting a dragon.
Spring Powered Boat (by Flax)
Many of the vehicles require battery, however, some clever folks over at Hyrule Engineering subreddit have found a way to use springs for momentum. This is a spring powered boat. What you have to do is engage with the controls, then let go, and engage again to power the springs. In turn you will be able to drive a boat around a lake, or get across a large body of water without the need for power.
Sports Car (by Kdawg)
Next up we have a sports car. This is another style-over-substance build. It’s a good looking Ultrahand creation, however I had to rip off the roof to be able to drive the thing. Once you get going it’s a decent vehicle to get around Hyrule, although if it rains Link is going to get very wet.
Laser Cannon (by Steven)
Next up we have a laser cannon. This is great for placing down infront of enemy camps and you can watch everything infront of you die. This is a creation where you have to place it and then whack it to turn it on. It’s very good for small encampments, just be careful the lasers don’t get you, because it doesn’t care who it kills.
Four-wheel drive with blaster (by Mbehbehani)
Next up we have a decent four-wheel drive car, plus we have a cannon on the front. If you want to travel a good distance, plus attack something at the same time, then this is a good option.
Jetski (by unknown)
Then we have a water vehicle. This looks similar to a jetski, and it’s pretty good for traveling around quickly on the water. It includes a long fin that goes deep into the water, so do be wary of this when you build, as you’ll need a lot of space and depth for this one.
Tank with lasers (by King-X)
Sometimes you just need a good old tank to drive into an encampment and take out all the enemies. This is a decent tank that will kill everything. If the cannons and lasers don’t kill then, then you can simply drive over them. This one is a bit of a battery drain so make sure you’re powered up.
Hover Bike (by ivelevi)
Finally, we have the classic Hover Bike. This one is very well balanced and will help you get from A to B in no time at all.
If you are interested in Ultrahand builds then you should check out the Hyrule Engineering subreddit. It’s packed full of amazing creations, and gets updated regularly. When it comes to building things in Tears of the Kingdom, I don’t have the creatvity or patience for it. Now with Zelda Notes, you don’t have to… you can simply find something you like, scan it and then use it in your game.
I hope you have found something here you like. I would recommend experimenting with Zelda Notes and autobuilding, it’s got me back to the game and I can’t wait to try out more stuff.
Let me know what you think in the comments, and share any autobuilds you think are good.
