Ever since Nintendo revealed the name and release date for the next major Zelda adventure in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, coming out on 12th May 2023, fans have been clamouring to get their preorders in, to make sure they get it day one. Even though the game is due to release late Spring next year, you can still get your preorder in for what is no doubt going to be one of the best games of this generation. Today I am going to round up the best places to preorder, plus look at Special Editions and Amiibos.
Nintendo revealed the name of their next mainline entry to The Legend of Zelda all the way back in September 2022, and I don’t know about you, but I immediately got my preorder in. Tears of the Kingdom is going to be a direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, already one of the best games on Nintendo Switch.
Now, I am not going to be able to cover everyone’s preorder, because today I will be covering North America and the UK, as that’s where the majority of my audience is watching from. However, please share preorder links, or add your preorder locations in the comments on this video. Let’s make this the best collection of preoder information for The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom out there on the internet, so we can help all the Zelda fans get their Tears of the Kingdom preorder in, and make sure we’re all playing on day one.
Also, I’m not getting paid or sponsored to do any of this, this is supposed to be a helpful list of where to go, I’m not getting affiliate payouts. I will put all links down in the decsription, so you have easy access to get Tears of the Kingdom.
Pre-order Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
First of all, let’s have a look at USA
We have a few places that are already allowing preoders for Tears of the Kingdom. We don’t yet know what preorder bonuses we’re going to get here, but that will likely become available closer to the time of launch.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – $59.99 from Amazon US
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – $59.99 from Best Buy
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – $59.99 from GameStop
Next up, let’s have a look closer to home, and that’s the UK.

There are a few more options there in the UK, plus you can save some money on the first few links.
Pre-order bonuses or Special Edition
At the time of making this guide there are no pre-order bonuses or Special Editions available. However, that doesn’t mean closer to launch retailers won’t announce them. For example, GAME here in the UK often add pre-order bonuses. Recently for Pokemon Scarlet I got a nice figurine of the starter Pokemon, plus a good poster for God of War Ragnorok.
Nintendo did run a Special Edition for the original Breath of the Wild. There was the standard edition, a Special Edition and the Master Edition. They were all made available through Best Buy, Amazon and GameStop in the US, and they sold out pretty quickly. The Special and Master Editions were only available for the Switch title, but we don’t have to worry about that this time, given this is a Switch Exclusive title, compared to Breath of the Wild which launched cross platform on Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
The Special Edition included:
- Copy of the game
- Nintendo Switch Sheikah Slate Carrying Case
- Sheikah Eye Collectible Coin
- Relic of Hyrule: Calamity Ganon Tapestry and Weather-Worn Map
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Sound Selection CD
The Master Edition included:
- Copy of the game
- Nintendo Switch Sheikah Slate Carrying Case
- Sheikah Eye Collectible Coin
- Relic of Hyrule: Calamity Ganon Tapestry and Weather-Worn Map
- Sound Selection CD
- Master Sword of Resurrection statue
Even though we haven’t had any announcements yet for Tears of the Kingdom, I am willing to bet a few rupees that we’ll get a similar package again; Special Edition and Master Edition.
As Special Editions become available, I’ll make sure to update the pinned comments here on this video, so we can make it the best resource to help everyone get their pre-orders.
Tears of the Kingdom Amiibos
At the time of making this guide no Tears of the Kingdom Amiibos are available. However, Nintendo made plenty of Breath of the Wild amiibos available. We had:
- Link – Horseback Archer
- Princess Zelda
- Link – Archer
- Bokoblin
- Guardian
- Revali
- Mipha
- Urbosa
- Daruk
Plus there are plenty of classic Legend of Zelda Amiibo’s too.
While I am sure Nintendo will produce amiibo’s for Tears of the Kingdom, they probably won’t be announced until we get nearer the game.
Hopefully you find this information helpful. There are some links to the US and UK retailers for pre-ordering Tears of the Kingdom right now, so secure your copy and get the game on day one. Of course, you can digitally download the game, which is certainly an option. I’m old school and still like the game, the packaging, the smell of opening up a new game and having the physical copy on my shelf. Also, really looking forward to those special editions as and when they become available. Keep your eyes peeled on the pinned comments here on this guide, and we can all update it together.
Let me know in the comments if you have made your preorder already, and rate your hype levels from 0-10 for The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom (0 being low and 10 being off the charts).
