As you explore the open-world in Tears of the Kingdom, you will be picking up all kinds of weapons, bows and shields, and quickly you’ll run out of space. That’s where Hestu and Korok seeds come into play; you trade in the Korok seeds with Hestu to get more inventory space. Today I’m going to tell you where to find Hestu, plus how to upgrade your inventory, so you can carry much more equipment in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

Inventory space is a premium price in Tears of the Kingdom, and you’ll want to increase that inventory as soon as possible so you can carry lots of equipment. When you go into battle you want to make sure you have plenty of weapons, bows and shields, and having a good amount of inventory space is key to that.

Upgrade your inventory with Korok Seeds

Hestu is the vendor you want to chat to to increase your inventory. He’s the musician of the Korok Forest and will enhance your inventory in exchange for Korok Seeds. Korok Seeds can be found all over Hyrule, and in the sky islands. There are 900 Korok Seeds to find in total.

I’m not going to be going through where they all are here today, but you will find them throughout the world. Often you’ll see a Korok saying he’s been separated from his friend and if you reunite them then you’ll be rewarded with a Korok Seed. Or you may have to solve a simple environmental puzzle. Either way, as you journey through Hyrule on your adventures you are going to collect Korok Seeds, and you want to trade them with Hestu.

You can increase your weapon, bow and shield stash. The first inventory slot costs 1 Korok Seed, the second costs 2 Korok Seeds and the third costs 3 Korok Seeds, and so on, for each slot. For example, if you want to upgrade your weapon and bow stash by 2 slots each, that’s going to cost you 6 Korok Seeds in total.

How to find Hestu in Tears of the Kingdom

Hestu is a wandering vendor, but you’ll be able to find him just south of Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower. The coordinates are (-1696, 1070, 0197). You’ll likely meet him after you first meet Impa, north west of Lookout Landing. Hestu is having trouble with some trees, and speaking to Hestu will give you “Hestu’s Concerns” side adventure. Help out Hestu by destroying the agressive trees and Hestu will upgrade your inventory in return if you have some Korok Seeds. There’s a few on the Great Sky Island, so hopefully you have at least a couple.

Once you have upgraded your inventory, Hestu then moves, and goes to Lookout Landing. Go out into the world and collect more Korok Seeds, and then eventually Hestu will move to Korok Forest. I did the quest to save the Deku Tree and Korok forest from the Gloom, and this may have prompted Hestu to return there. There’s a shrine in Korok Forest, so that’s a nice fast travel point if you need to get back to Hestu later on to upgrade your inventory.

In summary, Collect Korok Seeds out there in the world, trade them with Hestu for upgraded inventory and then you’ll be able to carry many more items on your adventures.
