The map in Echoes of Wisdom is large, so having a horse to get around is very useful indeed. Today I’m going to run through the steps required to rent a horse, plus also get Zelda’s own Royal Steed in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom.

There are a couple of sidequests you need to complete to get a horse and you’ll need to visit Hyrule Ranch, which is Southwest of Hyrule Castle. You’ll be able to go there once you are free to explore Hyrule early in the game.
How to get a horse and complete ‘Runaway Horse’ quest
When you first visit Hyrule Ranch you’ll be told you can’t rent horses at the moment because one has gone missing. Have a chat with the man in the ranch and pick up the Runaway Horse quest.
Then you want to leave the ranch and travel south west and you’ll find a small lake. In the middle there’s the horse, and you’ll want to build a little bridge with a bed, jump on the horse and then ride it back to the ranch.
Now you have returned the horse you can take out horses from the ranch, however, you don’t really want to go to the ranch everytime you need a horse. It would be much better to summon a horse wherever you are in Hyrule. For that, we’re going to need to complete another quest, and you’ll need to reach the midway part of the game and restore Hryule Castle.
How to complete ‘Impas Gift’ and summon a horse
After completing the ‘Still Missing’ quest and closing the Hyrule Castle rift, speak to Impa who’s in the Throne room next to the King. Speak to her to start Impas Gift sidequest.
Then go back to Hyrule ranch and to the west once again. There is a woman there, and you’ll want to speak to her. A boy runs up and says a new rift has opened at the nearby carrot patch. Carrots are key for summoning your horses, so you’re going to need to fix this rift with Tri.
Go into the rift and you’ll need to rescue Tri’s friends. At the top, go left and cross the gap with an echo to find the first ones.
Then go left and go down to the floating islands with 4 boulders on it. Use bind to move the boulders and the one of at the top is hiding Tri’s friends.
Continue round and go counterclockwise. When you come to the opening with the crates, move the first one to reveal the ladder. Go down there and take out the Bokoblins to find Tri’s friends.
Then go right until you come to a maze-like path with more crates. destroy the crades to find the ladder. Go all the way around counterclockwise. Move the platform and drop a bed or crate on it, that should help you get to the top. Cross over and hit the button. At the bottom return the platboom to the left hand side, ride up and then smash crates with a bombfish or another echo. Once you get through you’ll find the final friends needed.
Now you’ve done that go back outside and Zelda’s horse is hiding still. Use bind on the carrot, pull it out of the ground and tempt the horse back to you. That will complete Impa’s Gift. Before you leave get another carrot and learn the echo, this is going to be key to summoning your horse anywhere in Hyrule.
