How to get the Lynel Echo in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

Lynel’s are some of the most fearsome enemies in the Zelda franchise and you can command your very own Lynel in Echoes of Wisdom. Today I’m going to run through a quick guide for how to get a Lynel Echo in The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom.

Combat in Echoes of Wisdom can be tough at the start of the game, but that all changes when you get the Lynel Echo. Just send this guy out and watch everything get obliterated immediately. To get your very own Lynel Echo you’re going to have to find him, then defeat him, and then level up Tri enough, because this is a very expensive echo when it comes to Tri’s triangles.

How to find the Lynel

The Lynel can be found in the Eternal Forest. Keep progressing through the story of the game and eventually you will be directed there, however, you can go in there anytime. The Eternal Forest is north west of Hyrule Castle and there’s a fast travel waypoint just outside.

To find the Lynel you need to follow it’s footsteps. When you enter the Eternal Forest continue to the left until the atmosphere changes. Then you want to take the path north. You’ll find 3 big tree stumps that form a triangle, from here go to the left and then you’ll find some Lynel footprints on the ground.

Follow the path to the left and keep following the footprints until you are directed towards the south. Then follow the tracks and continue on the path. Keep a watch for enemies here in the forest. It’s good to pick up Sword Moblin Lv 3 if possible, because you can use him to help defeat the Lynel.

When you reach this set set of tracks, head along to the right. You should then find yet more tracks by a patch of grass. At this point, head north from the tracks and you should see more on the ground on your right. Follow the path here along to your right until you see more tracks heading to the north in the mud. To the right of the stumps here you should be able to see a large patch of grass. Walk through this until you reach an opening. In this opening will be a Lynel.

How to beat the Lynel

The Lynel is tough, so you’ll want to be prepared. First stock up on faires and health restoring smoothies. You’ll find Smoothie vendors all over Hyrule, I like to go to the one near the Gerudo Oasis. You can find fairies in the Great Fairy Fountain, there are always two in there, so fast travel to the middle of Lake Hylia and pick up some fairies in a bottle. If you don’t have any bottles, then check out my guide on the channel for how to find all the fairy bottles.

Once you have prepared your health, you will want a good echo to battle against the Lynel. I would recommend the Sword Moblin Lv 3, plus you can find this on your way to the Lynel in the Eternal Forest. They can be tough to beat, but you can encircle them with Octoroks to simultaneously attack and distract at the same time.

I would recommend an echo with a shield, because you’ll want some attack and defense. It’s highly likely the Lynel will take out your echo in a single swing of it’s sword, so bare that in mind. The Lynel is beatable though, and once you have it, it makes the game much easier when it comes to combat, especially as you approach the end of the game.

How to use the Lynel

The Lynel Echo is pretty expensive, it’s going to cost 6 triangle to use. You’ll need to level up Tri to at least level 9. To level up Tri you’ll have to clear rifts and dugeons, as when you clear them Tri shares the power from her friends that have been freed. Once you have upgraded Tri enough for 6 triangles, then you’ll be able to deploy the Lynel Echo just like any other.

The Lynel swings a massive sword, it can run pretty fast plus also it can jump as well, much to the surprise of the creatures I was bashing in the Faron Woods, who thought they could escape, only for the Lynel to jump up onto and over a tree.
